The Ides
Chapter 2 Wrathchild
Paul, or Jock as he was known to his friends, had always felt a sense of unease in his childhood home of Govan. It was a place where violence and tragedy seemed to lurk around every corner.
After his father’s gruesome death, Paul’s mother knew they had to leave. So, they packed their bags and moved in with her sister, Aunt Gina, who had experienced her own share of heartbreak across the pond. Aunt Gina had lost her husband, Tommy, in a horrific crane accident on the docks, an event that traumatized her deeply.
As Paul and his mother settled into their new lives in New England, they hoped to leave the darkness of their past behind. Little did they know, their journey towards healing and a fresh start would be filled with its own set of challenges and unexpected twists.
Life in a new country brought a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Paul, now with a new life, found himself navigating unfamiliar territories, both physically and emotionally.
As time went on, Paul discovered that his move to the US brought not only a change of scenery but also a chance to rewrite his future. He embraced his new identity as Jock and sought to leave the trauma of his early years behind. However, As he adapte d to his new surroundings, the shadows and echoes of his past continued to linger, influencing his every move and shaping the man he would become.
Amidst the turmoil, Jock found solace in the company of his cousin, Tommy Jr., Aunt Gina’s son. Together, they navigated the complexities of their shared family history, forging an unbreakable bond.
